MPLP

Module 2: The four convening structure

Inside MPLP's standard four-convening year — what each convening is for, how to plan one, and how they hand off to each other.

Convening 1 — Anchor: Land the year's focus, build community, and surface district context. Convening 2 — Lift: Look closely at a slice of student work or instructional practice, name what's working, name what isn't. Convening 3 — Adjust: Bring back evidence of changes attempted; collaboratively refine. Convening 4 — Carry: Set the next year's focus before participants disperse.

The convenings are not independent. The agenda of Convening 2 is shaped by what came up in Convening 1; Convening 3 cannot happen well if Convening 2 didn't end with clear commitments. The hardest part of facilitation is keeping the thread visible across all four.
